The first deliverable was a new website experience that came with a number of unique user experience and development challenges. Vanderhurd need a new site up fast but needed a sustainable solution that would allow them to immediately add and contol content. All while staying within a small budget.
My solution was to turn WordPress into a true CMS by creating a large number of modules based on existing and future conent that could be mixed together to make a variety of pages. This allows Vanderhurd to create a large variety of pages and change content based on user analytics. It also means new modules can be quickly designed and developed (by me or other designers) without overhauling large portions of the site. It’s not quite a full iterative product design solution, but it gets close, stays on budget and doesn’t require a dedicated product design team.
